Why Christmas and Pineapples?!

Simply, I love Christmas and pineapples! But aside from that, the little corgi mascot's (which I hope to have a real version of in the future) name is Sir Imomotaro Christmas! And, of course, pineapples remind me of home.

Christmas represents times when friends and family get together and we enjoy happy times and meals together. I like to use gatherings as an excuse to experiment in cooking and baking, so it only made sense to focus on the idea of Christmas.

I wanted to create a blog based on my experiments in cooking and baking, and also my adventures in eating. I hope we can learn from my trials and explore the science of cooking together!

My name is Amanda and I run this here blog.

I'm originally from Hawaii and love, love, LOVE food. I also love video games, art, and animation!

I currently live in Vancouver Canada, working as a lighting and compositing artist in the animation and VFX industry.

Since I'll be in Vancouver for a while, I've decided to teach myself about cooking and baking. I never took a class in cooking or baking, but I have dabbled here and there and find it relaxing and a really fun hobby. I'm using this blog to document my experiments, give tips (as I learn), and even get tips or challenges from my readers! Please join me!
